Characters felt very two dimensional, there was little to no investment in building any personalities. Even the protagonists'. Everything works out quickly and relatively easily. The book felt very uninvested. Unlike other novels, it didn't keep me thinking about the story when I put it down. Didn't make me care. In spite of entire paragraphs of preaching for good causes.
I was disappointed with this book.
Wanted and got first 8 books because of this one. Excellent writing, kept me guessing til the end!

Heather Graham is a great author. I haven't read a book of her's I didn't like. This series is as great as all her other series. You think you've figured what will happen next, but nope your wrong. Hope you enjoy this series as much a I do.
Light reading with a good story line that is realistic. Without getting too deep into the weeds, it represents an interesting picture of inter-law enforcement agency cooperation that is wishful thinking. It is dealing with a subject matter that reflects ( in the not so humble opinion of a retired cop ) a real under addressed need that would make better use of our Homeland Security Department resources than are currently being deployed. So I guess that underlying issue was kind of annoying to me. There was also a level mushiness on the part of the main character that I thought was a little much.
I love Heather Graham and this series has been good until this book it took me days to read it felt like it was dragging the whole way through and the ending was somewhat anti climatic
This had the opportunity to be an excellent & fun read. Sadly, the twists and turns throughout the book made the ending not work at all. Plot twists that don’t work within the story irritate me like stone in my shoe. Also, the characters pretty much had no real depth and were kind of uninteresting. I wish this author (& the editors) were a bit more on the ball.
