The book has some good suggestions and even a few geewhiz ideas, but I was repeatedly annoyed by his promotion of his other books. You'd be reading along on and he would mention something that would be helpful and say "you can read about that in my book..." or "I went over that at length in my book..." and then THIS book would skip on past that idea. Hmm. So unless I buy ALL his books I won't get the full picture.
This is small book and you can't get all of his suggestions in this volume, I get it, but I think he could have done better.

Eric Maisel never fails to give excellent advice for creative people.
This book has given me a quantum leap in understanding myself and in moving forward with my career. I have identified and begun the process of removing blocks to success that for years have prevented me living the creative life I so much want to live. A revelation. Amazing.

Well written and organized for implementing the nine keys.
Eric Maisel has clearly counseled many many artists. He zeroes in on the inner dialogue that goes on in the heads of us creatives & shows how to turn any negative self-talk around into positive reinforcement. Felt many times like he was talking directly to me!
A very helpful book which frames creative issues/obstacles in a candid, bracing way, and inspires one to take action.
I've since ordered additional copies to send as gifts to friends, and have also read two more books by the author.
Geared toward artists or anyone who wants to get on with the work and complete creative projects. I highly recommend,
even if one has read multiple books about the artistic process.
